SUBJECT: Court Designated Child Advocates By Access to Probation Records

For the purposes of implementing the Court-appointed Designated Child Advocates Program, volunteers serving in the Program shall be considered Court Personnel as that term is used in California Welfare and Institutions Code, Section 827. Therefore, they shall have-access to Probation files and information needed to carry out their responsibilities as designated advocates.

In order not to compromise the confidentiality of the children they represent, the volunteers are prohibited from any third party release of information with which they are provided pursuant to this Order.

All persons serving as volunteers in the Program will be given a copy of this Order by the Program's Coordinator.
